Research staff members of the Linguistic Directorate have successfully completed the translation of 5 U.S. Department of Defense Manuals of over 550 pages as part of familiarization with the defense property disposal process in NATO countries according to the relevant decision of the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
The manuals covered the following subjects: Defense Materiel Disposition: Disposal Guidance and Procedures; Defense Materiel Disposition: Property Disposal and Reclamation References; Defense Materiel Disposition Manual: Instructions for Hazardous Property and Other Special Processing Materiel; Defense Demilitarization: Program Administration; DoD Instruction Operation of the Defense Acquisition System.
The translated manuals will allow the Main Property and Resources Directorate together with specialists of the Central Research Institute of Armaments and Military Equipment and Central Research Institute of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to conduct a comparative analysis of the regulatory framework and to make proposals for its harmonization with NATO.
