The Linguistic Research and Development Department

LRDD is created on the basis of the Linguistic Research and Development Center, which, in turn, was formed from the the Linguistic Center for Research and Education (active September 2006 - August 2010). The predecessor of the Linguistic Center for Research and Education is the Military Translation Research and Education Center (active February 2005 - September 2006), being the structural unit of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Military Translation.

The primary task of the Military Translation Research and Education Center was interpretation and translation from foreign languages (English, German, French) upon request of the structural units of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, as well as training cadets/students and attendees of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and linguistic scientific and research activity.

The Linguistic Research and Development Center is functioning in order to provide linguistic support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, scientific research in this field, the development and implementation of innovative technologies, modern methods of education. LRDD also facilitates establishment of an innovative, scientific, educational and methodological environment to form the linguistic competence within the framework of priority directions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine activities and development.
